Cabbage Soup Diet Review

The Cabbage Soup Diet is among one of the better known infamous fad diets.  That’s probably because the Cabbage Soup Diet is so very very low calorie restricted, low fat diet, using, its namesake, cabbage soup, plus a few other foods, including vegetables, fruits and restricted carbs and protein. The reason the Cabbage Soup Diet can result in weight loss is because it provides at little as 800 calories a day.  Generally very low calories diets are 1200 calories for women and 1800 calories for men.  The Cabbage Soup diet takes its calories restricted diet to the extreme at half of this amount for men and 50% less than what’s very low caories diet for women.  Such low calories consumption can be dangerous to some.

The Cabbage Soup generally recommends you diet with it Cabbage Soup diet  for 7 days, then eat normally for 14 days, and then return again to the Cabbage Soup Diet for another 7 days and so on.  However, despite claims to the contrary, cabbage does not possess any ‘fat-burning’ properties.

Cabbage Soup Diet Recipe
The cabbage soup itself is usually made with 3 onions, 1 head of celery, 1 green bell pepper, half a cabbage, 2 tins of tomatoes, 1 pack of onion soup mix and 3 pints of vegetable stock.  Herbs and spices are not recommended and this recipe will make about 6 servings of the cabbage soup.

Cabbage Soup Diet Meal Plan
Cabbage Soup Diet Day 1:  Unlimited cabbage soup; unlimited fruits (most allowed, except bananas.)
Cabbage Soup Diet Day 2:  Some-made cabbage soup, plus other vegetables, including a baked potato with butter for dinner (potatoes are off-limits on other days)
Cabbage Soup Diet Day 3:  Unlimited cabbage soup; unlimited fruits (most allowed, except bananas.)
Cabbage Soup Diet Day 4: Home-made cabbage soup, plus anything up to 6 bananas and fat-free milk.
Cabbage Soup Diet Day 5: Home-made cabbage soup, plus 6 tomatoes and up to 450 grams of meat or fish.
Cabbage Soup Diet Day 6:  Home-made cabbage soup, plus unlimited lean beef or chicken and vegetables.
Cabbage Soup Diet Day 7: Home-made cabbage soup, plus unlimited brown rice, pure fruit juice, and vegetables. 
Cabbage Soup Diet Summary
Dieters should take caution that the Cabbage Soup Diet is not nutritionally based and is dangerous when followed long-term.  Of course, after 7 days of cabbage soup after more cabbage soup you may never want to eat another cabbage and have any vegetable soup ever again!  Finally, due to it’s incredibly restricted diet, following the Cabbage Soup Diet is virtually impossible for most.  Because the Cabbae Soup Diet restricts critical nutrients your body requires it cannot be a healthy and recommended diet choice for most.
